Pediatrics By The Sea achieves NCQA Prevalidation for PCMH

PCMH Recognition

We are proud to announce that Pediatrics By The Sea has achieved NCQA Pre-validated for PCMH (Patient Care Medical Home)!

NCQA is a private, non-profit organization dedicated to improving health care quality. NCQA accredits and certifies a wide range of healthcare organizations. It also recognizes clinicians and practices in key areas of performance. NCQA’s Web site (www.ncqa.org) contains information to help consumers, employers and others make more informed health care choices.

NCQA PCMH Prevalidation is a voluntary review process. The NCQA Prevalidation includes a rigorous evaluation of a submitted health IT solution’s functionality including but not limited to, reporting functions, report examples, screenshots, live demonstrations and other relevant documentation. Based on the review of information submitted above, NCQA approves or declines auto credit based on PCMH factor-level

NCQA’s PCMH Prevalidation evaluates Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, advanced registries, population health management tools, care coordination tools, patient engagement tools and other related health technology solutions providing functionality that completely meet or support factor-level requirements within applicable NCQA PCMH Standards. If a health IT solution completely meets the functional requirements of a given factor, automatic credit, “auto credit” points are awarded. If the health IT solution provides significant functionality that aligns with the requirements of the PCMH standards for a given factor but does not fully meet the factor level requirement, a “supporting” designation is awarded. Once a solution receives auto credit or a supporting designation for one or more factors, it is considered “Pre-validated.” Practices that use an NCQA Pre-validated system with auto credit awarded to a factor do not have to submit documentation for that associated factor within their PCMH Survey.

“By providing software that helps physician practices build the patient-focused, coordinated care infrastructure expected of NCQA patient-centered medical homes, Pediatrics By The Sea is helping practices be part of modern health care’s most important transformations,” said NCQA President Margaret E. O’Kane.
